Decisions that influence the future and health of sensitive
populations and ecosystems are made on a daily basis. In order for policy
makers, Information is the one lasting contribution that science makes
to society. Information is also the common thread that joins all of the
diverse disciplines of conservation biology together. The primary focus
of the Center for Conservation Biology is the collection, interpretation,
and dissemination of information that is central to solving today's environmental
problems. Each year, Center staff and students conduct a large number
of primary research projects that result in findings that provide guidance
to agencies and organizations. The Center is committed to making information
available to appropriate audiences as quickly as possible. Toward this
end, the Center has initiated a program to release information electronically
using 1) this website and 2) electronic mail.
